The Department of Philosophy at Auburn University pursues the study of philosophy both historically and analytically, exposing students to the great philosophers and philosophies of the past and of the present.
Our department teaches high standards of reading, writing and conversation. We prepare students to become adept at criticizing the views of others and their own views.
Engaging lessons are taught in the classroom, in informal discussion, in colloquia, and in the Philosophy Club. We view our faculty and students as philosophers working together to become better philosophers.
