Local Historical Museum Workshop

Representatives of local historical museums are invited to participate in a free workshop and networking opportunity on Thursday, May 16 from 9 AM to 2 PM CST at the Fort Mitchell Historic Site in Russell County. 

Following a museum tour and overview of Fort Mitchell with site director Dell McClendon, workshop leaders Erik London of the Alabama Department of Archives and History and Mark Wilson of Auburn University will facilitate sessions with participants on mission and vision statements, governance documents and issues for museums. Representatives from the Alabama Humanities Alliance, Alabama Historical Commission, and Alabama State Council on the Arts will be on hand to discuss funding opportunities.

The workshop is free, but registration is required. Lunch will be provided.
