students lighting a photography shootThe Department of Art provides students with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that are housed within Biggin Hall and the 3-D Art building. Students have access to a lighting studio set up for documenting 2-D and 3-D artworks, a fabrication lab equipped with high-end laser cutting and engraving and vinyl cutting technology, a 3-D scanner for digitizing three-dimensional objects, a CNC plasma cutter for metal work, and recently added to the inventory, a printer for ceramics that will enable students to print patterns on 3-D ceramic surfaces. In addition, a full complement to the expanding facilities is a broad inventory of curriculum-required essentials in equipment for photography and time-based classes.
