Recent BA in Studio Art alum turns internship into job at an arts and culture-based non-profit

Frances Oglesby graduated in 2017 with her BA in Studio Art and a minor in International Studies. After landing an internship in June for a new non-profit based in the US called Artive Inc (https://artive.org/), she committed to stay on full time back in September.  Artive, Inc. is an organization with the mission to protect and preserve fine art and cultural property through technology. Frances works to provide a universal digital archive for stolen, looted, at-risk, and otherwise claimed works of art and cultural property.

"It has been such a fascinating experience so far! I work in global operations meaning I get to handle a little bit of every aspect of the company such as cataloguing individuals losses, fundraising, conducting searches and issuing reports, and reaching out to other organizations around the world who's missions are in line with ours to create potential partnerships!”  Frances says that this time last year she would never have guessed this is what she would be doing because and did not even realize such databases existed. "It brings together so many aspects of art that matter to me be both on a specific, object-based level all the way to the business side of the industry.”
