Congratulations to department of art student Rachel Little who has recently captured a Peggy Guggenheim Collection Internship in Venice, Italy for the months of September, October and November 2014. Ms. Little will be graduating in May.

Among many as-needed duties she will hold the important responsibilities of preparing the galleries for daily opening and closing, guarding the rooms, speaking with the public, and working with staff in a number of areas including education, administration, public affairs, press, library, publications, and registrar research. Additionally, Rachel Little will prepare and present a 30-minutes seminar on a topic related to art, art criticism or museology.

I am thrilled and honored at this rare opportunity to live in Venice, work alongside the museum staff of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and gain an intimate understanding of their collection of modern art," says Rachel Little. "I know my experiences there will expand my creative potential in ways I cannot even anticipate, just as my experiences through the Art in Rome Study Abroad program did. My time abroad opened my eyes to the vast realm of possibilities the world has to offer and gave me the confidence to pursue them."

Interns have the exclusive use of the Collection’s library of modern and contemporary art and enjoy enough free time to study privately, attend language courses and lectures, and take trips around Venice and elsewhere in Italy.
