The ABCD Lab welcomes Jenna Dekich, a first year graduate student in Speech, language, and Hearing Sciences, as the newest GRA. Her main project includes Cognitive Flexibility in normal aging. Jenna has been researching for the past 4 years at her undergraduate university, where she studied brain, aphasia, and related conditions. She completed an undergraduate thesis about the importance of Culturally Responsive Rehabilitation Care for South Asians with Aphasia. She has presented at several conferences, including the Georgia Speech and Hearing Association twice, UGA’s College of Undergraduate Research Opportunities Symposium, and the American Speech and Hearing Association’s National conference where she was named a Progeny student and received centennial research distinction. She is very excited to continue her passion of research with the ABCD lab!
Recently Dr. JungMoon Hyun was awarded a CLA Competitive Interdisciplinary Team Science Grant for her project: “Cognitive Flexibility and Brain Network Connectivity in Older Adults!
Our undergraduate student, Rachel Adami was awarded an Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Her project is “Training AI Prompting Strategies in Individuals with Aphasia: Improving Problem Solving Abilities”.
Our Graduate student, Bianca Hamm, successfully defended her master’s thesis in April and graduated in May. She is off to her next adventure in St. Augustine, Florida as she begins her career at the Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans’ Nursing Home. Congratulations!
