Hours and Location: The clinic is open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday–Friday and operates throughout the year on the Auburn University schedule. The clinic is located on the first floor of Haley Center. 

Referrals: Referrals for speech and hearing services are dependent upon the type of insurance and the service desired. Alabama Children’s Medicaid recipients require a Medicaid referral with updated EPSDT screening from the child’s primary care physician. Issues with swallowing, voice, and breathing require a referral from a medical doctor prior to being scheduled. All other services are accepted by self-referral.

Cost: We accept the following payment and insurance types:

  • Visa, Mastercard, Discover, personal checks and cash
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, Alabama Children's Medicaid, ChampVA, Tricare, Tricare for Life, United Healthcare, Medicare, Aetna, Cigna, VIVA, Ambetter by Wellcare, United Healthcare Hearing, Humana, Medicaid and most secondary insurances
  • Services are also provided on a reduced fee for service basis. Reduced fees for services are available based on the client’s income level and family size per the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • The Auburn University Speech and Hearing Clinic offers a payment plan option for amplification and other services, please contact our office for more information. 

Parking: You may park in one of the 9 "Clinic Only” spaces on the first floor of the Heisman Drive parking deck or the 3 "Clinic Only" parking spots located on the side of Haley Center past the loading dock on Heisman Drive. From the deck you can walk the one block to the Clinic, located in Haley Center, or you may request a golf cart ride by calling our front office upon arrival at (334) 844-9600.  If you will need a golf cart ride, please arrive at least 20 minutes early to allow for transportation and to be on time for your designated appointment. 

You must register your license plate with our front office by providing your tag number at check-in or when your appointment is made. 

If you have a Disability Access parking tag or hangtag, you may park in one of the designated handicap accessible parking spots after registering your tag with Parking Services. This can be done by going to the Parking Services office, located on the 2nd floor of the South Quad Parking Deck on Lem Morrison Drive during regular business hours Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m.– 4:15 p.m. You can also provide the required information to the front desk at the AUSHC upon arrival.  The items required for accessible parking registration are as follows:

  • Driver’s license
  • Accessible placard or license plate documentation
  • Vehicle registration
