Time to Completion for all students entering the program
Prior Graduate Work: Prior Graduate Work: Twenty-seven percent (27%) of the PhD graduates from our program during the 10-year period that ended Summer 2023 earned Master’s degrees (that required successful defense of a thesis) from other institutions prior to admission to our PhD program, and were able to use the thesis and some of the coursework completed at those other institutions to fulfill some of our program requirements. Those students completed our program in an average of 5.5 years (median 5 years), compared to an average of 6 years (median 6 years) for the other students. Policies and procedures for using graduate work from another institution to fulfill program requirements may be found at https:/www.cla.auburn.edu/psychological-sciences/graduate-studies/graduate-student-milestones/transfer-of-coursework-thesis/.
Program Costs*
*Costs are per semester: All first-year students have assistantships that pay a stipend and include a waiver of resident and non-resident tuition. Historically, all clinical psychology doctoral students who are making adequate progress through the program have received tuition waivers and assistantships up until the point that they leave for internship. For more information on the funding packages students receive, visit the financial assistance webpage.
Internship Placement - Table 1
Internship Placement - Table 2
Auburn’s clinical program has one of the highest internship match rates in the country. According to a recent report by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), Auburn was one of only a handful of programs to have a 100% match rate between 2011-2019. This is well above the national average of 83%.
