Media
I’m available for media interviews on topics related to my research, such as: men/masculinities; men and feminism; gender inequality; sexual violence and violence prevention efforts; intersectionality and intersectional feminism; race/racism; sexuality, including non-normative sexualities and non-binary genders (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, etc.); activism/social movements and social change.
I ask that reporters and interviewers send me a sense of their questions and, if they have one, the frame they will be taking in the story, and that they allow me the opportunity to look at and correct the article before it gets published. Examples of print and online articles that I’ve been interviewed for include:
Vagianos, Allana. “How Not To Talk About Sexual Assault And Alcohol, Courtesy Of Stanford.” The Huffington Post, August 25, 2016.
Santos, Vicky. “Faculty Spotlight: Tal Peretz, Sociology, author of award-winning book, "Some Men: Feminist Allies and the Movement to End Violence Against Women" CLA Perspectives: News and Media from the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University, June 2016.
Jackson, Tyra. “Gender Stereotypes Breaking Down in Career Choices.” Opelika-Auburn News, October 2, 2016.
Brewster, Signe. “Gender Difference in the Stressed-Out Brain: New neuroscience complicates gender theories which maintain that behavior is shaped by social expectations.” PrimeMind, April 14, 2016.
Geggel, Laura. “The Science of Preventing Sexual Assaults on College Campuses.” LiveScience, July 5, 2016.
Martin, Courtney. “Feminist Masculinity Round Up.” Feministing.com, November 19, 2009.
I also engage in other forms of “new media” publication, such as blogs and podcasts (audio and video), and make some of my public talks available online as well:
“Regarding Research: Tal Peretz,” Regarding Research Podcast, Auburn College of Liberal Arts. December 2016.
“Engaging Diverse Men: An Intersectional Analysis of Men's Pathways to Antiviolence Activism.” Seminar, Center for the Study of Men and Masculinities, State University of New York Stonybrook, New York, NY. April 2014.
