Inclusive Excellence Across All Disciplines:
In the Classroom, Research, and Community

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

All students, faculty, staff, and external community members are encouraged to submit abstracts or descriptions for presentations and posters by February 29 at 12 am.

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by March 13, 2024.

 

There is no application/registration fee. Auburn University as well as faculty, staff, undergraduate, and graduate/professional students from all disciplines and external community engagement and outreach practitioners are welcome to apply.
 

Applications should include the following:

  1. Fully completed application form.
     
  2. Abstract summarizing research paper or project (approximately 250 words). Theoretical presentations are welcome, formal research not required. 
     
  3. Research presentations may be in the form of individual or group lectures, posters, round tables, or digital presentations. Many presentations will likely take ~10-15 minutes, but we can accommodate longer presentations and varying formats as needed.


Presentations should fall under one of the following categories/themes: 

  1. Student Access and Persistence
    • Developing and implementing evidence-based strategies and promising practices that are institutionally and culturally informed to create and strengthen an institutional culture for access, opportunity, and success for all students.
  2. Inclusive Excellence Faculty Development
    • Committing to a culture of faculty and professional development to cultivate and sustain readiness levels by becoming fluent and skilled evidence-based approaches and promising practices in pedagogy and classroom management.
  3. Institutional Change and Capacity Building for Inclusive Excellence
    • Increased awareness of the systems, behaviors, practices, and norms for individuals and institutions effectively modeling inclusive excellence, including skills, knowledge, and organizational learning needed to advance and sustain these efforts.
  4. Evaluating Institutional Systems Towards Modeling Inclusive Excellence ​​​
    • Examining institutional systems, policies, and practices to determine and address barriers and impediments to thriving, quality of life, and quality of experience for students, faculty, and staff.
  5. Fostering and facilitating Inclusive Community Engagement and Outreach
    • Examining how community engagement and outreach initiatives and programs are developed to intentionally inform, collaborate, and consult with all members of the community to implement the integration of history, lived experiences, diversity, equity, welcoming, belongingness, and inclusion.
