Social Media and Outreach Team

The Social Media and Outreach Team curates and simplifies research articles into easily digestible digital posts. These posts make complex topics accessible to a wider audience. Some topics include speech-language pathology, literacy, and the latest SLLAC Lab initiatives. Stay informed and engaged with our up-to-date content! This team also collaborates with professionals and community members to raise awareness to the prevalence of literacy deficits and promote literacy achievement.

Eye Tracking Team

The Eye Tracking Team, in collaboration with Dr. Ehrhorn, is developing a series of tasks to assess letter-sound correspondence, orthographic pattern knowledge, and phonological awareness. By building an experiment involving the tracking of eye movement, we aim to gain valuable insights into their phonological and orthographic knowledge.

Early Literacy Screening Team

The Early Literacy Screening Team is dedicated to finding a literacy screener that can identify individuals who may have been overlooked for literacy deficits. After thoroughly researching various available screeners, we are now collaborating with the University Clinic to find the most reliable literacy screening tool. Our goal is to conduct literacy screenings in the community to gain data for future research studies.

Language Data Analysis Team

The Language Data Analysis Team works closely with Dr. Ehrhorn studying the macro and microstructure of language and explore how storytelling can be used as an assessment tool. The team is also experimenting with the CLAN and PHON softwares to use as a tool for data analysis.
