Creative Scholarship Showcase to feature many CLA faculty

Auburn University will recognize faculty’s impactful and transformative research and scholarship during the fall research symposium events.

The Creative Scholarship Showcase, Sept. 28-Oct. 14 at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, is a multidisciplinary exhibition featuring fine art, applied art and design, performing arts, creative writing and other work from 22 departments across eight colleges. An opening reception is set for Sept. 28 from 5-7 p.m. at the museum, including a cocktail reception at 5 p.m., modern dance solos from 5-6 p.m., an awards ceremony and Mosaic Theatre Company performance from 6-7 p.m. and the exhibit grand opening at 7 p.m.

The Auburn Research Faculty Symposium, Oct. 23 in the Student Center, will have two rounds of Auburn Talks 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. as 12 researchers, six per session, present 10-minute talks. Two sessions of roundtable discussions are scheduled 10:45-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-2:15 p.m. with both sessions covering specific research topics as well as information to help researchers advance their programs. Poster displays are scheduled 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with 100 researchers expected to have posters.
