Tis the Season for a March Family Gathering: Auburn University Theatre closes 2020 with "Little Women"

Auburn University Theatre’s last production for fall of 2020 will feature an adaptation of “Little Women” by Kate Hamill, directed by Daydrie Hague. Recorded completely through Zoom, “Little Women” will be presented through AU Theatre @ Home as an audio play with visuals. “Little Women” will be available for viewing Dec. 7 – 13.

Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel presents the classic story in a new way that resonates with modern audiences. Join Jo, Beth, Meg, Amy, and the rest of the March family as they traverse the complex terrain of adolescence and evolving familial dynamics. This production breathes new life into the text with a bright, vibrant retelling of the plight of these women as they assert themselves in the world and prove themselves anything but little.

The artistic team for “Little Women” includes direction by Daydrie Hague, costume design by Tracy Oleinick, sound design and original music by guest artist, Anthony Narciso, and photography and wig design by Jennifer Salter. The cast of “Little Women” includes Ashleigh Avallone, Antonavia Collins, Julianna Devaney, Nick DiJulio, Emily Gant, Will Glisson, Sydney Golden, Charlcie Hathorn, Morgan Hogans, Mary Keyton, Madison McDougald, Zac Moss, Katie Pappas, Dex Pilcher, Lauren Selvia, and Ebony Strong.

“Little Women” is presented through AU Theatre @ Home, a way to watch the digital performances produced by the Department of Theatre outside of the physical space of the Telfair B. Peet. Once you reserve your ticket for a production, further instructions for viewing the performance will be emailed the night before the viewing window opens regarding access. Each show offering will run for a full week, you can watch it wherever, whenever and as many times as you like for seven days. Auburn Theatre is venturing to places it’s never been before, your home.

Due to the nature of this production season, the ticketing structure has changed. There is only a general admission price for all the fall productions. This decision reflects a similar price for general admission to an in-person performance, takes into account that the productions would be viewed from an individual's residence, and provides support for the work of our students.
