Which class has been your favorite at Auburn so far?
My favorite class that I’ve taken at Auburn University is Concepts in CMJN or CMJN 2103. I really enjoyed this class because it gave a sample of communications, journalism, public relations and media studies. Taking this course made me feel confident in my major selection, public relations, and also exposed me to fields of study closely related. Overall, this class was a very enjoyable experience because the content was informational yet entertaining and fun.
What is the best technology-based resource at Auburn?
The best technology-based resource at Auburn is the GET mobile app. The GET app houses your Tiger Card information, which includes the amount of dining dollars and tiger club dollars that are still available on your card. You can also load more money to your dining dollars through this account. The app allows you to scan your card, which is super useful in instances where you might have left your Tiger Card at home, and look at past transactions.
What do you wish someone had told you before you started as a student at Auburn?
Before I started at Auburn I wish someone had told me that Auburn is more than just a college. It’s a community and a family that will embrace you with open arms. There are many opportunities to get involved. I would recommend to try at least one activity out of your comfort zone.
Where are your favorite places to study on campus?
My favorite places to study are the library and Starbucks in Lowder Business Building. I love to study at the library when I know I’m going to pull an all-nighter. There are so many other students there, so it makes you feel like you are all in this together. The library also has a Panera which is so nice because their bagels are the best study snack. I like to study at Starbucks in Lowder during the day because there are so many windows for natural light.
How have you been able to maintain your social and academic involvement during the COVID pandemic?
Although COVID-19 has presented many challenges, especially for college students, I have been able to maintain academic involvement through actively participating in my courses. Support of friends, family and co-workers has helped. Auburn has done a great job of offering emotional support to students with many virtual options and activities.
