The Auburn University Psychological Services Center, or AUPSC, now offers Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Groups.

DBT Skills Group is an evidence-based treatment designed to improve problematic patterns in emotion regulation, impulse control, interpersonal relationships and self-image.

The treatment focuses on four core areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. The groups are psychoeducational, fast-paced and geared towards individuals committed to their own psychological growth and healing.

AUPSC services are available to individuals in the East Alabama community as well as members of the Auburn students, staff and faculty.

A full cycle of DBT Skills Group is 15 weeks and groups currently meet on Wednesday evenings from 5 - 7 p.m. The cost is $10 per session with a one-time intake fee of $35. Groups are currently available for adults and members must be established with an individual therapist at AUPSC or elsewhere.

If you are interested in learning more about DBT Skills Group, contact the AUPSC at 334-844-4889 or aupsc@auburn.edu.
