The Department of Music is excited to announce the formation of a new student performance ensemble. The AU Chamber Orchestra, styled after the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is available to both music and non-music majors. Currently, the orchestra seeks AU students with a background in orchestral strings, violin, viola, cello, and double bass for the ensemble. The AU Chamber Orchestra is scheduled to rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 pm-1:45 pm in the Goodwin Music Building. Auditions will be held in August during the first week of classes. Auditions for the 2021-2022 season of the AU Chamber orchestra will take place during the first week of classes. Auditions will be by appointment. Please contact Dr. Harrison at gharrison@auburn.edu to schedule and auditions day/time
Audition Requirements – Orchestral Strings
- Two Major & Melodic minor scales of your choice in 3-octaves
- A prepared piece of your choice that best demonstrates your musical/technical ability
- Possible sight-reading
