New Fine Arts Core Courses For Summer And Fall 2014

MUSI 2740 and MUSI 2750 will be offered this summer and fall for Fine Arts core credit.

The Department of Music is offering two new Fine Arts core courses in summer and fall 2014. Courses have been designed to offer students more choices to fulfill the required Fine Arts core requirement. No previous music experience is required for either course.

MUSI 2740, Survey of Popular Music, is a three hour course, surveying popular music styles from the late 19th century to the present day. This course will be offered during Summer Mini Semester I, Monday through Friday, from 9:45am-11:00am. Dr. Howard Goldstein will teach the course, and the CRN is 13744.

MUSI 2750, Music and Science, is a three hour course, focusing on music and its connection to science throughout history. This course will be offered during fall 2014 on Tuesday at 6:00 pm. Dr. Ann Knipschild will teach the course, and the CRN is 17615.
