We are pleased to announce that one of our faculty has been recognized as one of nineteen highly respected women composers. Dr. Rosephanye Powell was highlighted in the “19 Groundbreaking Women Composers” by J.W. Pepper in June 2018. We are proud of Dr. Powell for reaching this milestone, the only living vocal professor to receive this high distinction.

Auburn University Opera Workshop will present "50 Shades of Opera".

Auburn University Opera Workshop will present "50 Shades of Opera", a program of excerpts from well known operas and operettas of the 19th and 20th century.  The approximately 90 minute performance will include short portions of renowned works such as Lakmé by Delibes,Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan, Porgy and Bess by Gershwin, Susannah by Floyd and Elixir of Love by Donizetti, among others.  Performances are April 5, 6 and 7 at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, April 8 at 3:00 pm. in Goodwin Recital Hall.  Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.

The CSO performs Beethoven’s monumental Ninth Symphony “Choral” on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30ET. The Auburn University Chamber Choir joins forces with the orchestra and other choirs in the infamous 4th movement, one of the most enduring and recognizable themes in music, "Ode to Joy." With 160 voices on stage, this is not to be missed.
