About Me

Matthew Huff is the adjunct bassoon professor at Auburn University. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Music Performance and Music Education at the University of Georgia studying under Amy Pollard. Mr. Huff earned a Master of Music degree at Louisiana State University studying under Darrell Hale, where he served as a graduate teaching assistant for the bassoon studio. Upon finishing his thesis on Stress Velopharyngeal Incompetence, he will receive his DMA from the University of Alabama where he played with the Huxford woodwind quintet and served as the graduate teaching assistant for the studio, teaching lessons and bassoon methods.

Mr. Huff maintains a private studio teaching local bassoon players. He also freelances and has helped out in outreach programs, like Kids’ Orchestra, to help bring music to elementary school kids. Mr. Huff currently performs with the North Mississippi Symphony Orchestra as 2nd bassoon and the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra.
