Students of all backgrounds and experiences have the opportunity to develop as musicians and citizens that can effectively interact and communicate with diverse groups. This helps better prepare students to thrive in our ever-changing communities and workforces across the nation and beyond.
The Department of Music is committed to increased outreach initiatives in the area of recruiting minorities and underserved populations. Those initiatives include offering free or reduced tuition waivers for our Summer Music Camps and Music Festivals hosted throughout the fall and spring on campus.
The Department of Music supports all diversity initiatives of Auburn University’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and the College of Liberal Arts Diversity Committee. You can learn more about the various programs, projects and events sponsored by both groups on their websites.
