Elba celebrates opening of new splash pad

Elba Mayor Mickey Murdock and so many others involved with the planning and building of the town’s new splash pad celebrated at the official opening on Tuesday, June 19. The 90-degree temperature and sunny skies made it a perfect day to dedicate a splash pad in south Alabama.

Christian Way lends a helping hand in Camden

Over the hill from Camden’s downtown lies Depot Street, a quiet little road that leads up to a red brick church, quaint school, daycare facility and a white building for food donations, all collectively known as Christian Way. Christian Way helps more than 300 families in the Camden area each year by providing needed clothing and food.

Code enforcement officer plays key role in Elba
Code enforcement officer plays key role in Elba

Code enforcement officer is one of the most important jobs when it comes to the development of a city. Study Club Ushers in New Generation of Service
Study Club Ushers in New Generation of Service

Arriving at the Collinsville Study Club meeting on a recent Thursday night, I had no idea what to expect. I had never heard of a study club before, and I was very unsure of what the club did. I was pleasantly surprised to find a group of women who put service to others above themselves. The Study Club was established in 1929 for a charitable purpose.
