'Where there's a need, there's a Lion'
'Where there's a need, there's a Lion'

On Monday, June 5, the Collinsville Lions Club invited me to sit in on their meeting at the Collinsville Public Library. Having never been to a Lions Club meeting, I knew very little about them other than the fact that they collected glasses for refurbishing purposes.

Happy Birthday, Alabama
Happy Birthday, Alabama

In 2019, Alabama will turn 200 years old. It’s an event to be celebrated and an opportunity to spark a conversation about the history and culture of our state. Between the years of 2017 and 2019, the Alabama 200 organization aims to support, create and execute events and activities that commemorate the stories of the people, place, and path to statehood.

Meet Me at Jack's
Meet Me at Jack's

Although many may not find their best friend at a fast food restaurant, that is exactly what Morgan, a hostess at Jack’s for the past 12 years, and Ragan did.

Pebble Hill is the Place for Making Plans
Pebble Hill is the Place for Making Plans

Pebble Hill (Scott-Yarborough House) is the home of the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities in the College of Liberal Arts, and on Fridays it is the place for Living Democracy students to enjoy lunch and make plans for summer 2014.
