Information for Current Students
On entering the graduate program you will receive a copy of the Department of History's Graduate Handbook. It provides detailed information on all stages of the graduate program, and should serve as your primary point of reference on your duties and responsibilities as a graduate student. Note that the graduate handbook you will receive has spaces in which you and the faculty members you are working with sign off on your progress through the program.
The Department offers a range of prizes for scholarship and service, as well as awards and fellowships and aid to students conducting research, attending conferences, and writing up. These awards are competitive. Deadlines for application fall in the Spring semester.
