Dr. Janelle Rodriques comes to Auburn from Universität Bremen, Germany, where she was a postdoctoral researcher in postcolonial literary and cultural studies. She holds a PhD in English from Newcastle University, UK, where she wrote her dissertation on representations of Obeah in Anglophone West Indian fiction. Her first monograph, as a result of this research, is forthcoming with Routledge. Dr. Rodriques’ research interests include Afrosyncretic religious praxis, race and representation, and the theorisation of Caribbean and Black Atlantic futurity. She welcomes dissertation topics in contemporary black women’s writing and Caribbean literature.
