Profile

Ashley Ludewig earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville in May 2017.  Her dissertation, "The Military Meets the University : Mapping Issues of Literacy Sponsorship across Military and Academic Settings," uses a literacy studies framework to explore the relationship between student veterans' experiences with military writing and academic writing.  The project offers an in-depth analysis of some common military literacy practices and describes paths and barriers to knowledge transfer between military and academic contexts. ‚Äč Ashley's research interests include first-year writing, military literacies, writing program administration, and writing in the disciplines.
