About Me

Damon E. Duncan is a Principal Partner for Clesia Ventures, LLC, who has more than thirty years of experience in the affordable housing industry, including development, grant writing, program management, resident services initiatives, master planning and strategic solutions affecting the affordable housing industry. He has extensive experience in community revitalization and development initiatives such as HOPE VI, Neighborhood Stabilization and Choice Neighborhoods. In addition, he has helped PHAs receive competitive grant awards in a wide range of areas including VASH, Mainstream, ROSS, FSS and CNI. His real estate development strategies have led the development of over 2,600 units and over $437 million in total development costs. To date, Ventures has serviced eighteen PHAs across the country.

Beyond his work as a developer, program manager and consultant, he has led three PHAs as president and CEO. These include the Housing Authority of Elgin, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and most recently, he led the Montgomery Housing Authority. These agencies have a combined operating budget of over $150 million with real estate assets of over $1 billion. In addition, these agencies have a combined total of over three-hundred employees. He has also led five Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) transactions in Elgin and Richmond.

Damon holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University. He also holds a Master of Real Estate Development from Auburn University, where he is also an adjunct professor in the Master of Community Planning program.
