About Me

Dr. Kathleen Lea received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Auburn University and her Doctor of Audiology from The School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She and her family returned “home” to Auburn in 2016, and began working for Auburn University that summer of 2016. Prior to Auburn University, Dr. Lea practiced at a five physician ENT practice in Tennessee, a multi-specialty physician group in Georgia, and as an educational audiologist serving an eight county territory region in Georgia. Her clinical interests include pediatric populations, exceptional individual populations, and auditory evoked potential testing. She enjoys pediatric and adult amplification and advancements in technology. Dr. Lea has held licensure in three states. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Lea is the recipient of the ASHA ACE award.

When not at work, Dr. Lea enjoys all things outdoors with her husband and two sons. One of her favorite aspects of the Auburn University Speech and Hearing Clinic is the uniqueness of the patients that she sees ranging in age from a few days old to 101 years strong! Dr. Lea thoroughly enjoys teaching and supervising Doctor of Audiology students and seeing where their interests take them in the field of audiology.
