PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

As a public relations intern, you will be an extension of the community engagement team and an integral component to the ministry’s daily tasks and operations. This internship will provide you an opportunity to develop professional skills, create work samples for portfolio use, learn the role of PR, and grow in your relationship with Christ while investing in the youth in the community. This internship is an unpaid semester-long commitment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • • Assist community engagement coordinator with job-related tasks 
  • • Create engaging content and graphics for media releases, social media platforms, newsletters, mailers, and other marketing materials 
  • • Aid in updating and maintaining YFC social media pages 
  • • Aid in planning and/or working ministry events and fundraisers 
  • • Perform administrative duties 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • • YFC interns are committed to Christ and have a passion for YFC’s mission and ministry 
  • • Public Relations, Communications or Marketing major 
  • • Excellent writing, editing, organizational and personal skills 
  • • Strong communication skills 
  • • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team 
  • • Proficient with Microsoft Office 
  • • Professional appearance and conduct 
  • • Commit to at least 16 hours a week for 12-14 weeks 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • • Proficient with Canva and Mailchimp 
  • • Public speaking
