Courtney Finley: Full Picture Production

Courtney Finley (COMM) at Full Picture Production in Hollywood

I conducted my internship with Full Picture Production located in West Hollywood, California. Full Picture Productions and Public Relations brings together best in class creatives and distribution strategists to create innovative TV, digital, and social media content. Our goal is to tell our clients story in meaningful ways across multiple platforms as well as promoting clients and making them seem as successful, honest, important, exciting or relevant as possible.

At Full Picture I work as an Entertainment Public Relations/ Event Production Intern. In this photo I am in Malibu California working Event Production and Public Relations for the Becca Cosmetics Endless Summer Launch Party celebrating the release of Chrissy Teigen’s new line of Glow Product. I assisted in the set up and design of the event and assisted in all of the PR needs of our client from execution to completion.

After applying for a year in California to work as an entertainment PR/ Event Production intern I was lucky and overjoyed to be offered an internship at Full Picture. Going into this internship my goal was to be completely dedicated to learning as much as possible in this field. Setting goals for myself in the work place helped me stay on track and achieve more than I believed possible in a short amount of time.

My advice to anyone seeking an internship similar to mine is to always say yes to overtime hours! Its important to keep yourself available in this fast pace industry and always be willing to take on any tasks given to you! It will pay off in the end!

A vital skill that I developed over the course of this internship was to proactively seek engagement and learning within the workplace. Members of staff were often quite busy and it was up to me to seek engagement and show them that I could be of assistance rather than waiting for them to come and ask me to help with something.

Outside of office its important to take time for yourself and have some fun. If you are interning in a new city take advantage of those afternoons off and go see the city!

Get to know the people you work with on a personal level. It’s important to network as an intern and you will be grateful for the people you met along the way when you begin looking for a full-time job. Also, you might just make a few lifelong friends at the company!
