Andrea E. Hall is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication and Journalism at Auburn University. She teaches courses in design and feature writing in the journalism program.

During the past decade, she has worked in journalism and marketing. She was a lifestyles editor for a newspaper in Mississippi, where she won awards for writing, photography and design, and was the graphic designer and art director for a city and regional lifestyles magazine in Florida. She also worked as a marketing and communications specialist in Florida, where she wrote stories, managed social media, and designed print and digital collateral.

As a researcher, her interests focus on celebrity news, magazine readership, parental and gender presentations in news, and trending topics related to social movements and digital activism. She is actively involved in AEJMC’s Magazine Media Division, currently serving as the newsletter co-editor and previously serving as the magazine division’s coordinator for Southeast Colloquium.

She is excited to be at Auburn and add it as her fourth SEC school. She has previously attended the University of Tennessee, University of Missouri and University of Florida.
