Change in Accessing Mallard Server

Change to Mallard Access

If you are maintaining a web site on the university server mallard, you may be experiencing connectivity issues.

Information from OIT:

During the holiday break, FTP access to was disabled.  Applications accessing Mallard should connect via SSH or SFTP (Port 22).  Mallard is also available off-campus via the VPN Client.

If you have any problems connecting, please contact the OIT HelpDesk.

Tips from CLA IT:

For the ones of you who use Filezilla to transfer files to your web space, please make sure that you give 22 as your Port.

For the ones of you who use Dreamweaver to put files onto the mallard server, please go into your Site definitions and make sure that your Remote Server connection is set to SFTP.  That will change your port to 22.  Test the new connection.

If you are on a Windows computer, you may get a Windows pop up  – you can just cancel it.  Remember to save the changes to your site definition.
