2019 Roslyn Brock Stern Lecture
Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Biggin Hall | 005
Free and open to the public.
Nancy Locke, associate professor of art history at Penn State University, will give the Department of Art & Art History’s 2019 Roslyn Brock Stern lecture on her current research titled “Rethinking Cézanne’s Doubt” in 005 Biggin Hall on Tuesday, January 15 from 5:00-6:15 pm.
Dr. Locke’s research analyzes the ways in which French painter Eduard Manet engages with the social dilemmas of modern life in his art practice. Her book-in-progress, Cézanne’s Shadows, from which her lecture draws, analyzes Cézanne’s engagement with the art of the past with close formal analysis of his paintings.
The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Barb Bondy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
