Apply Now to Participate in 2016 Summer

Living Democracy will provide a unique living-learning experience for selected Auburn University students in the summer of 2016.  Students are paired with one of our Alabama communities for a ten-week experience in civic engagement and community development.

Students work collaboratively with community partners and local citizens to design, execute, and evaluate community projects.  Housing is provided by the communities, and students are able to earn an $1,800 stipend for their work.

Students will be required to take a 1 hour course in the spring of 2016 in preparation for the summer ahead.

Living Democracy is supported in part by the David Matthews Center for Civic Life, in collaboration with New College at the University of Alabama.
