The Department of History invites you to attend a lecture by Associate Professor of History Jason Parker (Texas A&M) titled "Mad Men in the Tropics - The USIA and the Accidental Birth of the Third World." Parker is the author of Brother's Keeper: The United States, Race, and Empire in the British Caribbean, 1937-1962 (Oxford University Press, 2008) which won the SHAFR Bernath Book Prize, and Hearts, Minds, Voices: U.S. Cold War Public Diplomacy and the Formation of the Third World (Oxford University Press, 2016). The lecture will be held in Haley Center 3203 and is free and open to the public.
