Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts Faculty Resources Information Site
The CLA Faculty Resources website was created to provide easy access to information about support for teaching, research and creative scholarship, outreach, and program and core assessment—all necessary for advancing your professional development. The site integrates a wealth of resources from within the College, from across the campus, and from external sources. It also includes detailed information about promotion and tenure and a template to guide creation of your promotion and tenure dossier.
CLA and departmental support opportunities include the following:
- Short- and long-term internal non-competitive and competitive funding for conferences and research travel
- Course development
- New faculty orientation and other teaching workshops
- Professional improvement leaves and funding for scholarly and creative projects
- Reduced teaching loads to undertake research or teaching improvement
CLA works to support the formation of groups that meet to discuss and work on topics of mutual interest. A wide variety of projects are supported every year. The College particularly values collaborative and/or interdisciplinary projects, faculty research that involves students, and creative scholarship as well as more traditional scholarship.
This site was developed by Dr. Paula Bobrowski, Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development and Graduate Studies firstname.lastname@example.org, Ann Knipschild, Professor of Music email@example.com, and Isabelle Thompson, Emerita Professor of English. We would like to express our great appreciation to all those that participated in the initial development and continuing evolution of the site.
